Son, salsa, rumba guaguancó, conga, timba fusion, cha-cha-cha: all the sounds and styles that make Cuba such a rich musical hotbed will be on full display during Habana Nights, on stage at Le Balcon. For this exciting show, Miguel De Armas will transport the audience to the hot Cuban sun with his original songs along with timeless Cuban classics.

A Cuban pianist and composer living in Ottawa, Miguel De Armas combines Cuban and American jazz to create an eclectic, incredibly catchy sound. In 1988, Havana-born De Armas founded the acclaimed Cuban band NG La Banda Orchestra, with which he toured the world for more than a decade, including major international festivals like North Sea Jazz, the Montreux Jazz Festival, Couleur Café and the Barranquijazz Festival. Along with his rhythm section (bass, drums and congas), the talented performer delivers energetic and inspiring arrangements of traditional Cuban styles like son montuno, cha-cha-cha, salsa and guaracha.

Lovers of jazz and Cuban music won’t want to miss this memorable evening with a supremely talented artist.
